Our Areas of Specialization in Vascular Medicine and Vascular Surgery

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are widespread and not only cosmetically disturbing.

Often these also lead to physical complaints and secondary diseases. For example, heavy and swollen legs and, in advanced stages, painful chronic phlebitis or dangerous thrombosis.

Spider Veins

Medical classification of spider veins

Spider veins (spider veins) represent functional disorders of the smallest veins that occur particularly frequently on the legs and ankles. Without involvement of the rest of the leg vein system or as an early form of developing varicose veins, these are initially harmless and do not represent a disease in the medical sense.

Thrombosis

Thrombosis is a serious vascular disease in which a blood clot (thrombus) forms in a blood vessel.

Laser Therapy / Radio Frequency Therapy

Minimally invasive treatment methods can now replace classic varicose vein operations.

Minimally invasive therapy methods – such as laser therapy and radio wave therapy in particular – represent modern and gentle alternatives to stripping surgery in the treatment of varicose veins.

Carotid Artery

Narrowing of the carotid artery (carotid stenosis) is a risk factor for the occurrence of a stroke.

Every year around 14 million people worldwide suffer a stroke. A narrowing of the carotid artery is the cause of this in around xxx,000 patients. The main reason is vascular calcification (arteriosclerosis) of the carotid arteries.

Circulatory Disorders

In the case of arterial circulatory disorders, the vessels in certain areas of the body are narrowed or even blocked.

The blood can no longer flow through it unhindered. Limbs or organs are no longer adequately supplied with oxygen and nutrients. The most common cause is hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), in acute cases also a vascular occlusion (embolism).

Aneurysm

An aneurysm is a pathological bulging of a blood vessel.

Aneurysms occur particularly often in the abdomen in the area of the main artery (abdominal aortic aneurysm). These are reliably diagnosed by means of an ultrasound examination.

Vascular Catheter

Circulatory disorders can now be treated gently and safely with a vascular catheter.

In contrast to conventional open surgery – with a more or less large skin incision over the affected vascular section – with the minimally invasive “keyhole technique” the arterial flow is restored using a catheter over the groin or arm.

We are looking forward to your visit!
